Decorative screening and railings Loanhead town centre, Midlothian. Hot forged and fabricated stainless steel. Based around the mining and hydraulic engineering industries. The main posts were inspired by an aircraft lift on H.M.S. Invincible designed by Mactaggart Scott engineers in Loanhead. The flowing top rail of the railings undulates in the same way as a cam track from a hydraulic motor. The screen panels are a stylised fireplace with flame details throughout the railings and panels. There are also 16 tree guards of a related design in the close vicinity.
