Nechtensmere, designed around the tale of the battle of Nechtensmere near Letham, Angus. The Picts were waiting to ambush behind the hill on which the house is now built. It was the flight of the heron which alerted them to the approach of the Saxon enemy. Much of the inspiration for the design is from Pictish carvings and symbolism.
